The Day Before Your ACCA Exam
The day before an ACCA exam is a unique experience. You’ve studied, revised, and given your absolute best. At this point, there’s nothing more you can do to drastically change the outcome. So the focus shifts to maintaining calm, clarity, and confidence. Here’s how a typical “exam eve” can look.
- Rise Early, Gently
Wake up early enough to feel the morning light on your face. Brew yourself a warm cup of hot chocolate or tea, something comforting that tells your brain: today is calm. Skip the textbooks and heavy notes. Pick up your summary sheets, the ones you carefully prepared during revision. Flip through them slowly, letting the key points sink in without stress. The goal is to lightly refresh key concepts and important points you’ve already internalized. These sheets are your roadmap, a concise version of all the hard work you’ve put in.
- Take a Breath of Fresh Air
Step outside for a walk. Feel the breeze, let your mind wander, and enjoy the moment. A little movement and fresh air can work wonders for reducing stress and clearing your thoughts.
- Light Review and Reflection
Once you return, glance over your summary sheets again. Maybe read a few technical articles or brush through tricky concepts you’ve noted before. Keep it light. The goal isn’t to learn something new,it’s to feel confident in what you already know.
- Treat Yourself
Watch a movie that makes you happy. Listen to music, enjoy a small treat, or do something that brings joy. This is strategic mental relaxation. A positive mindset the night before an exam can improve focus and recall on the big day.
- Early to Bed
Finally, go to bed early. Trust in the effort you’ve already put in. You’ve done your best; now it’s time for your mind to rest and prepare to conquer the exam tomorrow.
