New Year, New Goals: Stay Consistent, Pass ACCA
The start of a new year brings excitement, reflection, and fresh opportunities. As we step into 2026, many ACCA students are either preparing for upcoming exams or waiting for results. Having recently completed my ACCA journey, I understand the mix of hope, anticipation, and determination students feel at this time.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s this: consistency beats last-minute cramming every time. The New Year is the perfect moment to apply that lesson and set yourself up for success.
Break Your Preparation into Phases
ACCA prep can be divided into two main phases:
- Conceptual Phase: Focus on understanding textbooks and grasping key concepts.
- Revision Phase: Practice past papers and questions to reinforce what you’ve learned.
Following these phases consistently reduces stress and builds confidence as exams approach.
Small Daily Efforts Matter
Even just an hour or two of focused study each day adds up over weeks. Daily consistency helps:
- Reduce last-minute stress
- Build confidence gradually
- Turn potential failures into passes
Balancing work, undergraduate studies, or other responsibilities (as I did) can be challenging, but showing up every day matters more than cramming at the end.
Balance Study and Recreation
Consistency also means balance. Short breaks, a 30-minute walk, or a small treat keeps your mind fresh and prevents burnout. Small, steady steps create sustainable preparation.
Look Ahead
The first ACCA exam sitting of 2026 is in March, so preparation should ideally be underway. For those who attempted exams in December, remember results are just around the corner. Stay calm, reflect, and prepare for the next steps without panic.
2026 is more than a calendar change – it’s a mindset shift. Stay consistent, disciplined, and balanced, and small daily efforts will turn aspirations into achievements.
Here’s to a productive, consistent, and successful 2026 for all ACCA students!
